Walsh Western International (WWI), the Irish company
which specialises in the management and distribution
of high value goods, announced today (Wednesday
17th December) the opening of a new call centre
in Limerick to service its European operations.
The call centre will immediately create 40 new jobs
in the area.
WWI is one of Europe's fastest growing
supply chain solution service providers and employs
1,000 in Ireland, Britain and Holland. The company
reported revenues of €160 million in 2003.
WWI's new Limerick call centre replaces
a smaller such operation in Clare. Limerick was
chosen as the call centre location because of its
communications infrastructure and skilled staff
.
The Limerick call centre will be the base
for all of WWI's outbound and inbound calls in Ireland
and mainland Europe and has a completely new IT
infrastructure including server and new phone system
with an automated call centre management system.
As WWI's European business expands more jobs will
be added.
Teresa Ryan, General Manager, WWI said;
"We envisage creating significant cost savings
for our customers by the introduction of leading
edge technology".
