Walsh Western International invest €15 million in expansion
Irish logistics company Walsh Western International (WWI) have opened a new €15 million premises in Tilburg to cater for a major expansion of business in Europe. WWI, whose headquarters are in Dublin Airport, currently have two existing sites in Tilburg.
The new 265,000 sq ft site will provide pan-European reverse logistics and fulfilment solutions to existing clients including Dell, Sony and Epson as well as other high-tech and healthcare technology clients.
WWI's new Tilburg operation is taking on 100 new staff in logistics and administrative support roles within the warehouse to help the company handle expected customer expansion and support its ambitious plans for growth.
WWI has also invested €1 million in a high tech sorting system that will increase operational capacity by 300%. The addition of the new site has increased storage facilities in Tilburg by 100%, providing 30,000 pallet locations across both sites offering additional storage capacity to the existing customer base.
Marcel Reinders, Managing Director of WWI's Benelux operations, commented, “We have significantly enhanced our product and servicing offerings in Benelux in the last 12-18 months which has resulted in an increased amount of new business. Expansion will allow us to provide the best possible service to our customers and give us the ability to scale up rapidly as needed.”
