FURTHER EXPANSION MEANS A SECOND INCREASE
OF STAFF THIS YEAR FOR COVENTRY EMPLOYER
Local Coventry employer, Walsh Western
International (WWI), has recruited over 50 staff
within the past three months in order to cope with
its steady increase in business.
The company is a specialist in the management
and distribution of high value goods and has recently
invested in excess of £100,000 in new assembly
equipment and facilities in Coventry. The new staff
will be taking on a variety of roles within management,
production and assembly for new customer wins, taking
the total number of WWI (UK) employees to over two
hundred.
WWI decided to move completely out of London at
the beginning of this year, opting instead to consolidate
all its UK operations in Coventry. The company opened
a second site at Red Lane, to compliment its existing
location at Cross Point Business Park. WWI believes
that this decision has contributed to the 40 per
cent increase on business from the same time last
year.
Phil Cocking, the managing director for WWI (UK),
commented: "The future is looking very promising
and we are hoping for similar growth to continue
well into 2004. This will mean further local employment
opportunities to sustain any expansion. Basing our
UK operations in Coventry has proved to be a successful
move and has allowed us opportunities we wouldn't
necessarily have had if we'd have stayed in London.
We feel that Walsh Western International is a serious
employer in Coventry and we're definitely here to
stay."
Walsh Western International (WWI) is one of Europe's
fastest growing supply chain solution service providers.
