COVENTRY EMPLOYER EXPANDS OPERATIONS AND TAKES ON NEW STAFF

Coventry employer Walsh Western International (WWI) is expanding its presence in the town with the opening of a new site at Red Lane, complementing its existing storage facility at Cross Point Business Park. The company, a specialist in the management and distribution of high value goods, will be relocating from a site in London, consolidating all its UK operations in Coventry.

WWI's UK operation is taking on new staff in logistics and administrative support roles within the warehouse to help the company handle expected customer expansion and support its ambitious plans for growth in the UK.

Phil Cocking, managing director of WWI's UK operations, said, "Coventry is a great location with good connections, which allows us to service businesses throughout the whole of the UK. The UK is a key strategic growth market for WWI which has grown by 27 per cent in the first quarter of this year. Having moved from our previous site in London, we have much more confidence that Coventry will provide us with a solid base from which we will be able to significantly enhance the services we can offer our customers and expand our customer base."

The new UK site at Red Lane in Coventry, which totals over 100,000 sq. ft. (9,500 sq.m), has been earmarked for the development of specialist value-added fulfilment and reverse logistics services. As a high tech sortation operation, the site will handle clients in the high tech and healthcare technology sectors throughout the UK.
